Milwaukee Straight Flute Taper Tap

INDUSTRIAL INTERNAL THREADING PRECISION

In any high-volume fabrication shop or maintenance fleet, stripped threads represent significant downtime and lost revenue. The Milwaukee 49-57-5189 Straight Flute Taper Tap is engineered to mitigate that risk, offering a precision-machined solution for establishing new internal threads or reclaiming damaged bores in common structural metals. Built for the mechanical professional who demands repeatability, this tap ensures your shop stays productive with clean, code-compliant threading results.

• / Tapered Start Geometry: Designed for gradual, aligned entry into the workpiece, reducing the risk of cross-threading during the initial cut.
• / Black Oxide Treatment: Enhances surface lubricity and provides critical corrosion resistance for a longer service life in harsh environments.
• / High-Visibility Markings: Permanent laser-etched sizing allows for rapid identification in crowded tool chests, preventing costly sizing errors.
• / Universal Square Shank: Engineered for a locked-in fit with all standard tap handles and wrenches, ensuring maximum torque transfer.
