Ramboo 12 inch Plaster Scratcher

Ramboo 12 inch Plaster Scratcher

The Ramboo 12 inch Plaster Scratcher is a wide scarifier for keying the first coat of plaster or render before the second or finishing coat. Because the wider 12 inch format covers more surface per pass than a standard scratcher, it speeds up the keying process significantly on large wall areas. As a result, it is a practical choice for plasterers doing volume work on sand and cement or backing coat systems.

Key Features

• 12 inch wide scratcher head covers more surface per pass than a standard scratcher for faster keying on large areas.
• Steel scratching prongs scratch the first coat surface to create a mechanical key for the second coat.
• Standard preparation tool used in two-coat plaster and render systems.
• Product code: R202001

When to Use It

Scratch the first coat while it is still green firm but not fully set. In particular, working at the right time produces clean scratch marks rather than smearing the surface. For detailed areas, corners, and reveals, the Ramboo Scratcher with Plastic Handle (R20200) is better suited. For this reason, having both sizes available covers the full range of scratching work on a project.
